The moment they greet the great outdoors

Imagine a Shabbat service on the beach, or having Havdalah around a roaring campfire, with a million stars in the sky. At Tamarack outpost camps, in the heart of the wilderness, there are no clocks ticking away precious moments, nor are there distractions from the outside world (like cell phones). It’s how campers can fully immerse themselves in the natural rhythm of life — disconnecting from the modern world and reconnecting with oneself and nature.

Located at the Charles N. Agree Outpost Camp, just outside of Wawa, Ontario, this six-week, coed program lets teens spend a summer in the Canadian wilderness. Campers will embark on an eight-day hiking trip along the beautiful north shore of Lake Superior and a four-day canoeing trip, further exploring the deep waters of Northern Ontario.

When at base camp, they will stay in one of four cabins and have full use of showers, the lodge, sauna and other amenities. They will have additional opportunities to hike, swim in waterfalls and canoe rushing rivers — learning wilderness and leadership skills, self-confidence and group dynamics.
