Ready to discover the true value of Tamarack Camps? Here, participants enjoy a break from their daily routines and develop resilience, independence and a strong sense of connection. Plus, the friendships formed and the lessons learned extend far beyond the summer, providing a solid foundation for future success and well-being — all wrapped within the warmth and traditions of a Jewish home.

Our all-inclusive pricing ensures that families can plan their summer without hidden or extra camp costs. Transportation, tripping experiences, canteen, horseback riding and laundry are all covered — services that are often considered extra charges. We also offer $1 million in scholarships to make camp accessible to everyone. With a top-level medical team led by our year-round chief medical officer, your camper will have access to comprehensive medical care that addresses both physical and emotional needs, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

In addition to the flagship residential camp experience, we offer scenic outpost camps and unique travel trips to the western United States, Alaska and Israel that foster growth, a love of nature and exploration — all in some of the most beautiful places in the world. Every program is secure, with stringent measures in place to ensure the safety of every camper. We also accommodate various dietary needs, so that all campers can enjoy nutritious — and delicious — meals.

Tamarack’s team is made up of best-in-class professionals, dedicated to creating an enriching and memorable experience for your family. Whether your child is a first-time camper or a returning adventurer, we provide a variety of options to fit your needs and schedule. Explore the dates, rates and camp costs.

Deposits

Camp Maas and Outpost Camps: A $500 deposit is required to reserve a space at the time of application during the early-bird pricing window. The deposit will be reduced to $250 for anyone applying for financial assistance. After the early-bird pricing period ends, the deposit will increase to $1,000. The deposit is non-refundable after December 31, 2025.

Western and Alaska Travel Trips: A $1,000 deposit is required to reserve a space at time of application. The deposit is non-refundable once your spot is secured.

Israel Trip: We are planning an exciting return to Israel; additional information will be forthcoming.

Priority Applications

Certain programs fill quickly, which is why we offer priority placement to any returning camper, based upon total years of participation. At any point between 9 a.m. EDT on September 9 and 5 p.m. EDT on September 28, applications may be submitted for priority placement. Beginning on September 29, applications will be processed, and anyone who applies during the priority application period will be notified (via email) of registration confirmation by October 20.

Payments

Families may elect to pay monthly, on the first Friday of each month, with the first payment due on November 7, 2025 and final payment due on April 10, 2026 (the final payment will be due on the second Friday of April due to Passover) — or they may elect to pay in full. This payment will be due at the time of application. (There is a 3% discount for paying camp costs in full.)

Families who apply after November 7, 2025, will have the camp cost divided evenly over the remainder of the billing schedule.

Families who apply after April 7, 2026, are required to pay in full.

If, at any point, we deem your child ineligible for a program, a full refund will be provided.

A convenience fee of 3% will be applied to all payments made via credit card. There is no fee for check or debit card payments.

Scholarships and other resources

Scholarships:

It is important to us to make camp affordable to you. We encourage all families, regardless of income or family circumstance, to apply for scholarships if the cost of camp feels prohibitive. Our scholarship application is straightforward, and all information is kept confidential. As scholarship applications are reviewed and processed on a rolling basis, we recommend submitting it at the time of your camper application.

Other Resources:

  • Your synagogue: Many synagogues in our community provide financial assistance to help their congregants with camp costs.
  • Payment plan: Interest-free (0%) 12-month payment plans to Jewish individuals in the state of Michigan to fulfill a variety of financial needs, including attending camp. For more information, visit https://hfldetroit.org/.
  • PJ Library: The PJ Goes to Camp program provides $1,000 grants for any camper attending overnight camp for 12 nights or more for the first time. Applications open in October at https://pjlibrary.org/communities/detroit/846.
  • Out-of-area Jewish federations: If you are a family residing outside of metro Detroit, your local federation may have additional resources.

Medical Information Forms and Compliance

To ensure the highest quality of care, all medical information forms are required prior to the beginning of your camper’s session or travel trip. To ensure adequate time for review and processing, we will begin assessing medical compliance fees of up to $100 for any camper who has not submitted their medical forms by March 31, 2026.

Please note that if your camper has a scheduled appointment with a healthcare provider after the March 31 deadline, extensions will be granted for the healthcare provider form only, with prior approval from our chief medical officer or directors of health (Camp Maas or Teen Programs).

Medications (prescription and over the counter, including vitamins/supplements) must be filled by AMAC, our partner pharmacy service; there are few exceptions and all require prior approval . Medications not filled through AMAC will be subject to a $200 processing fee. You will need to sign an authorization form and enter all medications into the Parent Provided Medical Information section in CampBrain. Only prescription medications need an Rx sent by e-script to AMAC by the physician. All over-the-counter medications will be automatically filled by AMAC as long as they are entered into CampBrain.

If your child takes ADHD medications or any controlled substance that is only given in a 30-day supply, you will need to call your insurance company and ask for a “VACATION OVERRIDE” for 30 days (if attending one session) or 60 days (if attending two sessions or travel trips). Tamarack Camps is not responsible for the cost of any medications, including those not reimbursed by insurance.

Withdraw / Cancellation Deadlines

Families who withdraw from our programs on or by December 31, 2025, will receive a full refund of the amount paid to date. January 1–31, 2026, withdrawing from a program will result in the forfeiture of the program deposit. After January 31, 2026, refunds will be issued as follows:

  • February 1–28: 50% of rate (after deposit) will be refunded
  • March 1–31: 25% of rate (after deposit) will be refunded
  • On or after April 1: Unable to provide refunds

Please note that any individual who is removed from one of our programs for violating a policy will be ineligible for a refund. Additionally, campers with undisclosed or not fully disclosed mental health challenges are not eligible for refunds. If we determine after the start of a session that camp is not a good fit for any camper based on their disclosed mental health needs, refunds or rollover to next year will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Note: A submitted application does not always guarantee registration. During the priority application window, if more applications for a program are received than spaces are available, a random drawing will be held. Returning camper applications submitted after 11:59 p.m. EDT September 30, 2025, regardless of total years of participation, will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, where space is still available. Additionally, any new camper applications received during this time will be processed after priority application, where space is available.
