Camp Olmsted – A New Adventure

By: Jackie Yashinsky

Tamarack Camps has a brand new addition – Camp Olmsted, a rustic outpost camp tucked away in scenic northern Pennsylvania.

Campers and staff will enjoy all that Allegheny National Forest has to offer, including hiking and canoeing trips, and of course, lots of tripper stew.

Camp Olmsted is no stranger to the Tamarack Camps family. For the last several years, this gem overlooking the Allegheny Reservoir served as a home base for our Robinson Pioneer camping trips. In fact, the idea of renting Camp Olmsted for an extended summer-stay came from one of our long-tenured campers, Erin Greenbaum!

With the Alaska Trip sadly canceled due to travel concerns and Charles N. Agree Outpost Camp unavailable because of border restrictions, we were tasked with finding a new, exciting adventure for our incoming 11th graders. Erin reached out to our leadership team and reminded us of Camp Olmsted, a suggestion that we embraced with open arms. The next day we were on the phone with Camp Olmsted, pursuing the idea.

We can’t wait for Erin and her peers to reconnect at Camp Olmsted!
