Family camps return this spring

By: Helayne Shaw, Family and Alumni Engagement Coordinator

Spring is around the corner, and with it comes the return of Tamarack’s popular Mom & Me and Dad & Me family camps. Registration for these fun-filled weekends opens March 1!

Mom & Me Camp will be held April 12–14 at Butzel Retreat Center (with activities at Butzel and Camp Maas); Dad & Me Camp will be May 10–12 at Camp Maas. Both programs are geared toward campers ages 5–12.

There’s also still time for grandparents to submit applications for Bubbie Zaydie Camp, which is offered for nine weekends this summer at the Butzel Retreat Center. Applicants submitted by March 1 will be entered into a lottery for their choice of weekends — this is your best chance to secure priority placement. Afterward, remaining openings will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

And speaking of grandparents… we hope bubbies and zaydies will join us with their grandchildren to celebrate Purim and enjoy a mitzvah project with our friends at JFamily/JGrand!

We’ll be gathering at The J (formerly known as the Jewish Community Center) on Sunday, March 10, to pack, decorate and deliver Mishloach Manot (gift packages) to our neighbors at Jewish Senior Life. This free event, geared toward families with children ages 3–10, includes the opportunity to prepare packages, a craft project and snacks — but please bring your own personal water bottle — and costumes are encouraged.
