❤️ February is American Heart Month! ❤️

Stefanie Aronow, M.D., Chief Medical Officer

At camp, we know the heart isn’t just for feeling — it keeps us moving, playing and thriving! February is American Heart Month, a time to raise awareness about heart health and take steps to keep our hearts strong.

What’s happening this month?
❤️ National Wear Red Day: Wear red to show support for heart health, especially for women.
💡 Education Initiatives: Organizations like the National Institutes of Health and American Heart Association share important information about preventing heart disease.
🏡 Community Efforts: People come together to promote heart-healthy habits in their communities.
🩹 Commit to CPR Training: Training in CPR, AED and first aid is widely available for businesses, in your community and even online from the comfort of your home.

What can you do for your heart?
🥦 Eat well: Choose heart-friendly foods like fruits, veggies and whole grains.
🏃 Stay active: Aim for 30 minutes of movement, five days a week.
📉 Know your numbers: Keep an eye on blood pressure and cholesterol.
🚭 Quit smoking & limit alcohol: Your heart will thank you!
👩‍⚕️ Talk to your doctor: Know your family history and check in on your heart health.
💖 Learn CPR: Knowing CPR could help you save a loved one’s life in an emergency.

Let’s keep our hearts happy and healthy—after all, camp adventures are even better with strong hearts! ❤️💙
