From Camper to Community Leader

Zack Goldman, Israel and Teen Leadership Village (TLV) Coordinator

My name is Zack Goldman, and I am the Israel and Teen Leadership Village (TLV) Coordinator at Tamarack Camps. I am also incredibly honored to be included as part of this year’s Detroit Jewish News “36 Under 36.”

To be recognized alongside so many inspiring leaders in our community is both humbling and deeply meaningful. This acknowledgment is not just a reflection of my work, but also of the people, mentors and experiences that have shaped me along the way.

Tamarack has played a defining role in my journey as a Jewish leader. From my earliest days as a camper to my current role working closely with teens and families, Tamarack has given me opportunities to grow, take on responsibility and develop a deep sense of connection to community. It has been a place where I have learned how to lead with intention, build meaningful relationships and create experiences that leave a lasting impact.

Over the past several years, I have had the privilege of helping guide and support the next generation of Jewish leaders. Watching teens grow in their confidence and identity, as they discover a sense of belonging, has been one of the most rewarding parts of my work. It continues to inspire me every day and reinforces the importance of investing in our community’s future.

I am especially proud to see so many Tamarack alumni recognized in this year’s cohort. It is a powerful reflection of the lasting impact that Tamarack has on shaping passionate and engaged leaders within the Jewish community.

Congratulations to all of this year’s honorees. I am grateful to be part of such an accomplished and dedicated group, and I look forward to continuing to grow, lead and contribute to our community together.

Thank you to the Detroit Jewish News and the selection committee for this meaningful recognition.
