There’s something so special about meeting new campers and their families. I had the chance to meet some wonderful families in Nashville last week, including our fabulous hosts Miriam and Rabbi Dan Horwitz and Akiva School, and it was a great reminder of why I love what I do. Hearing about parents’ hopes for their children’s summer, answering their questions and sharing my own love for camp always gets me excited for what’s to come.
I understand that when parents — especially those from out of state — choose Tamarack Camps, they’re entrusting us with their “everythings,” and, from one parent to another, I promise to honor that trust — and please know that you are not alone. Tamarack is home to campers from throughout Michigan, California, Florida, Illinois and Texas, to name a few.
And that begins with helping families get to know us, so that they feel safe and comfortable. What that process looks like varies from family to family, but if you’re not sure where to start, come to one of our upcoming informational meetings, either in person or on Zoom. You can also view past Zoom meetings — or request an in-home meeting (and get a discount on your summer enrollment when you host at least three friends)!
And, when you’re ready, our summer 2025 applications are open and waiting. Right now, we’re in the midst of our priority window, which is the best time to secure a spot in our most coveted programs — with an early-bird discount — but don’t wait; it ends Monday, September 30!
Let’s make this summer one your child will remember for years to come. I can’t wait to meet even more wonderful families as we plan for the Best. Summer. Ever!
P.S. Don’t forget about scholarship opportunities! We think every kid should get to experience camp, so we offer nearly $1 million in scholarships each year to help make that happen. No matter your financial situation, there’s a place for everyone here!
