As our season comes to an end at JCC Day Camps powered by Tamarack, we reflect on the incredible summer we had. Campers were eager to see their camp friends they hadn’t seen since the 2019 summer and excited with meeting new friends. Counselors were eager to allow campers an outlet this summer that only camp can provide. Even though we stayed in our “pods” without mixing and we were limited on some activities, each camper left camp with a smile … under their masks. In the wake of a pandemic, this summer solidified the importance of camp to the growth of a child.
They say it takes a village to raise a child, and camp is a crucial part of each child growing up. Our “village” this summer was filled with the BEST! STAFF! EVER! Our staff helped make each week this summer successful. Our theme this summer was the “Wonderful World of Disney” and each week was themed after a Disney movie. Some of our camp highlights this summer include our “trip to Israel,” watching the theater campers perform Moana Jr. and being on either Team Mr. Incredible or Team Frozen for color war.
Each Shabbat we welcomed rabbis and Jewish educators from around the community to help end our camp week. For a summer that was unlike any other, we are thrilled that it was a summer no one will forget.
