For four days in August, Butzel Retreat Center and Camp Maas became a sanctuary for parents, kids and multiple generations to experience Tamarack together.
From Thursday, August 13 through Sunday, August 16, Summer Family Camp offered a little bit of everything: time outdoors, new adventures, creative activities, Shabbat favorites and, of course, plenty of time to enjoy camp.
Adults and tweens took on the new Lucker Family Adventure Course, while tubing offered a chance to get out on Lake Radin. Participants also created special keepsakes for Havdalah, adding a hands-on element to the weekend’s Shabbat celebration.
The family lip sync contest brought plenty of energy, with the Kirsch family taking the top spot after an entertaining lineup of performances.
For some, Summer Family Camp was an introduction to a place they had heard about through their parents. For others, it was an opportunity to return to a setting that has been part of their own lives and share it with their children.
And throughout it all, our staff brought the warmth, energy and care that make a weekend at camp feel like home.
Summer Family Camp is more than a getaway. It’s a chance to create new traditions, explore camp and share the Tamarack experience across generations — all while making memories in a place that means so much to so many people.
