I feel very grateful for so much at Tamarack Camps but most of all I am grateful for our community. As a new director, I was given the opportunity to open camp after a summer we did not run. This was a huge task that I was honored to be able to fulfill. It wouldn’t have happened without our amazing year-round staff, senior leadership, seasonal staff, committee members, and camper families to whom all I am very grateful. You guided us with your experiences, trusted us with your precious children, and worked extremely hard to have a safe and healthy summer for all.
Now, we are beginning our plans for Summer 2022 and I could not be more excited. We already have campers registered – some programs even filled. Staff members have filled out applications and are interviewing with our amazing year-round team. We are meeting with our Medical Committee and Camp Maas Committee regularly to elevate and enhance all our programming and I continue to be grateful! It has been great talking about next summer with all our new camper families and families who have been coming to Tamarack for many years. I am thankful for all the families who have hosted new campers in your homes (garages or backyards) so we can share the magic of camp with them.
Thanksgiving is typically the time of year when we get to reunite from the previous summer, and while this year may be different because we are not joining together right now, we are looking for ways to safely reunite soon. We miss being together and sharing stories from summer.
I know when I am asked this Thanksgiving what I am thankful for, I include my camp community! Thank you for all you do for camp and sharing memories with us each summer!
