Summer is in motion at Tamarack Camps! From our youngest campers at Camp Maas to our experienced explorers trekking through the beauty of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and the shores of Lake Superior in Canada at an outpost camp or the majestic landscapes of Alaska and the American West on a travel trip, this is something good — what we wait all year to enjoy.
Camp Maas
This morning, we said farewell to our session 1 mini campers after 10 days that flew by so quickly. Our time was packed with camp favorites like Music Lunches, Circus Day and Foxfire. While we were were thrilled to watch their joyous reunions with loved ones at Adat Shalom, we are also excited for all that the summer still holds at “The Greatest Place on Earth!” — starting with our second Shabbat of the session tonight, where we’ll gather in the amphitheater of The HuG, with the stage overlooking the lake, and celebrate the joy of being Jewish.
Outpost Experience
With campers divided between Camp Kennedy in the U.P. and Charles N. Agree Outpost Camp in Wawa, Ontario, our most remote campgrounds are buzzing with energy. Both groups have jumped into camp life and have even experienced their first backcountry adventure of the session.
Alaska Trip
With more than 2,000 miles behind them, our Alaska campers are deep into Canada and soaking in the marvels their journey — from stunning mountain views to spontaneous adventures. Today, they’ll enter the historic Chilkoot Trail for their first backcountry, and we’re so excited to hear all about it.
Western Trips
Our Western Trip campers are making the most of every mile as they travel through the awe-inspiring landscapes of the American West. With both trips on the road, Western 1 has already been whitewater rafting — highly anticipated by Western 2 in the coming days — and moved on to Arizona (a brief departure from the planned itinerary due to Utah wildfires and related air quality concerns). And so the journey continues…
Bubbie Zaydie Family Camp
Today begins our fourth Bubbie Zaydie weekend — and we are having so much fun!. Grandkids and grandparents have stayed busy with favorite activities, including tie-dye, magic shows and delicious Havdalah s’mores. These are weekends full of Tamarack traditions meant to be shared from generation to generation. L’dor v’dor!
I am so appreciative to all our families and supporters making this summer possible. It is such a joy to see everything — and everyone — come together for these experiences that truly shape children’s lives.
