Camp Kennedy – Returning to Nature

By: Jackie Yashinsky

We are thrilled to offer Camp Kennedy for incoming 10th graders for the summer of 2021. In a typical year, Camp Kennedy is an option for incoming 9th graders. In an effort to give the most campers a summer experience, we shifted the age.

Returning to direct the program this summer is Jacob Hankin, an expert in all things Camp Kennedy. This will be his landmark 10th season at Camp Kennedy, of which he’s been a camper and counselor, and now enters his fourth year as our director. Like the rest of us, Jacob is grateful that this group of teens is set to experience Camp Kennedy after things were unfortunately shut down in 2020.

Thankfully, despite the chaotic nature of the last 12 months and so many aspects of our lives changing, things at Camp Kennedy will look and feel just about the same as it has for decades.

The secluded nature of Camp Kennedy and the smaller community there within will allow for campers and staff alike to focus on and appreciate the pure beauty of their surroundings.
