Community Support

Mike Cooper, President

Before we enter our summer season, I want to share my gratitude for the many volunteers that worked tirelessly on this month’s SK2T event, which especially includes Julie Trepeck Harris (VP of Advancement), and the co-chairs of our program, Maddi Ishbia Luckoff, and Lisa Korotkin Rothberger. Amongst many highlights of the evening, I felt especially moved when Maddi and Lisa asked audience members to stand and wave their glow sticks when a statement resonated (Past President, alumni, donor, camper family, etc). While looking around the sanctuary, it was awesome to see so many bright lights, beaming together, supporting their passionate involvement for our community’s Jewish overnight camp and embodying a “culture of philanthropy,” highlighted in our newly approved strategic plan. In addition to those that led the event, I feel privileged that, throughout the year, our full board of directors and committee members volunteer their time with so many other lay leaders that are passionate, talented, and driven to partner with our year-round staff in the success of our agency.

In August, we move from strength to strength, and I look forward to meeting with our community at the Annual Meeting, where we present the new slate of board nominees for election. Stay tuned for next month’s article, where the nominees will be listed, along with the date and location!

Until then, we look forward to a great summer!
